The importance of "green building" approach for commercial real estate market development
On 23 November 2011 at NSC "Olympiyskiy" (Champions Hall) the meeting of Ukrainian Real Estate Club, UREC Innovations Conference 2011, was held. The forum was dedicated to the innovations at the European real estate market and the future of Ukrainian market.
Business Development Manager of Knauf Insulation Ukraine Anna Dukhno and Managing Partner of Forum Evolution Igor Melnyk were moderators of the session on innovations in real estate development.
Anna Dukhno noted that the concept of "green building" provides not only for energy efficiency but also creates biopositive living environment - the environment of security and comfort. "Green building is a complex approach that includes not only the building but also its location, accessibility, integration into the environment, as well as sound insulation, air quality protection, lighting, water supply, ventilation, building materials, waste management and other aspects", - underlined representative of Knauf Insulation Ukraine.
During the event, speakers shared their experience in the application of energy efficient technologies in construction of towns and presented innovative concepts in the field of commercial real estate, as well as discussed implemention of standards of "green building" in Ukraine and abroad.
One of the most discussed topics of the first part of UREC Innovations Conference 2011 was economic efficiency of the implementation of "green" technologies in different segments of the real estate market in Ukraine. The experts paid attention to the ratio of additional costs for construction and environmental returns iwith regards to application of special materials, equipment, new engineering systems, etc.
